Checkride Preparation and Requirements
As an applicant for a particular certificate, have all the required hours and experience for the certificate you are seeking. As an examiner working for the FAA it's my job to verify all the details and check all your endorsements to assure you are qualified. Please make sure your FAA 8710-1 or 8710-11 is fully filled out and accurate. The evaluation does not begin until the applicant is "qualified" for the test through examination of records and the application is accepted by the DPE.
Access to your application on www.faa.iacra.gov should be available at least 3 days before scheduled checkride. There you must login and complete your application and receive a FTN (FAA tracking number for all registered users). I need to receive this FTN number at least 3 days before checkride.
All logbooks should be totalized, must have sign off by recommending instructor.
Also please direct your attention to the checklist for checkride requirements that must be accomplished and items that must be accessible to me before checkride is initiated.
Please allow approximately 4 hours (which includes oral portion, pre-flight and flight portion) for Private, Commercial, Instrument, CFI, CFII & ATP checkrides.
Initial CFI applicants may require more time.
